[QUESTION]Air Filter Types

So basically what air filter type are there?


I have seen/heard something about on-road and off-road ones.


But are there any specific names and explanations where it is best to use them?


For example this filter below. Is it for on-road or for off-road as well as foam filters?

That would be known and a K&N style filter. Some people swear by them, and others hate them. I wouldn't use them as a breather myself.
