Just doing teh wiring on the marder but I have always used the switch. I know this is not recommended by most so.........

I have a spare tamiya type connector and was going to use that direct into the receiver. I assume I will be ok connecting this onto the battery connector rather than using the receiver style plug to the switch and then to the receiver.

Not done 1 before so check twice do once as always :D

I used to run electrics before with the same radio gear as now and plugged 7.2v batterys direct into the receiver with no switch.. never had any problems with it myself..just make sure if its the 2 pin plug to get it the right way round...black to black and red to red..easy...

we also used to hot wire our futaba servos....cut the red power cable to the receiver and connect that direct to the battery so it was running 7.2v direct...made it quicker but life was shorter.

Cheers Wez :D
I thought it would be ok as the plug is taking over the role of the switch but I like to get it right 1st time rather than feck it up!!

I know how it feels as Im a noob on the fg stuff

radio gear and electric setups have been my thing for the last 20 odd yrs..gone through alot of cars...electric and nitro..
