I believe I can stiffening my spring a little more by twisting the cap downward? This will result in a stiffer spring right? Is this correct or is this a bad idea?

it's correct! that you will stiffen your suspension by twisting the cap/adjustmentscrew downward. if it's a good or bad idea is intirely up to you and your driving style. also the oil in your suspension housings, could need to be changed if your running the stock oil. I would recommend to change the oil to w40 shock oil

If u change the oil don't u have to bleed the shock?
you need to clean the shock house before you put in the new oil, nothing else, just make shure to locktite or tighten the shock lid really good, I changed mine when one of my lids came lose.

Adjusting the tension on a spring only changes the ride height- pre-load. On this forums advertiser area, look at Python motorsports. They have an assortment of springs. Not 100% shure - I think the front springs for the HPI 5 B will fit the rear shocks on your XB. Have a good day.
