hi guys
just wandering can you reuse old fg mt tyres that have been glued on plastic rims??,
as i want to fit them on to the new rock start octane billet rims iv coming soon.
whats best way to remove them of old rims ??

can i reuse old foam inserts ??

and best way to fit foam inserts, glue and tape them on ??
thanks
glen

You'll need to boil them in water for about 15 mins, give them a good soak, best to do one at a time if this is your first go, once their real hot and had a good soak, you'll need to peel them off, its tough and will take plenty of effort.

You can use the foams again if their still in good shape, but for the cost, probably worth getting some new ones.

I wrap the foam once round in some tape just to hold it still while im getting the tyres off.
Others may some more input.
Good luck, look forward to the pics of your new rims :-)

if you have a bucket of acetone dunk the tires in and cover. let em soak. they'll pull right apart.

ca debonder kinda works. helps when removing the old glue off the tire

can also preheat an oven to 350-400 and pop the tire in on a cookie sheet for a few mins then remove with oven mits. less chance of getting burned from boiling water
