Do kill switches have to be plugged into a 3rd channel? I was hoping to get a closed circuit kill switch, and use it on a 2 channel radio and either plug it into the 3rd/bind channel (its not a third channel, just a bind on the redcat 2.4ghz), or get a y harness and plug a servo and the kill switch into it, and when i turn the radio off it would kill the motor. Is that possible? Flint said it wasnt, and i just wanna make sure, cause it seems plausible to me, and i figured not many people are in the 2wd section. Not saying your wrong flint, i just wanna make sure cause i'd like to go with the redcat radio.

"The Killer Bee will automatically kill the engine during: radio glitch/loss, low battery, bad connection, or total battery power loss. You can also make the Killer Bee kill the engine anytime you want by pressing the transmitter's 3rd channel switch." So by saying if there is radio glitch/loss i would figure if i shut the radio off it would kill it.

If thats not possible how is this radio http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/148962/n/Airtronics-MX-Sport-FHSS-2-24-GHz-Radio-w-3-Channel-Receiver?utm_source=Google-Base&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Product-Feeds Its 2.4ghz and has a 3rd channel.

You need a third channel. That's why it's called a third channel kill switch. Not trying to be a smart ass but listen to flintman he's no stranger to this stuff. I run an Airtronics Mx3 and it's a damn good radio. I heard that sport was good for 1200ft. Talk to Griff @ www.xtm-dealer.com His customer service is second to none.

Well ya but when it said that if that if it loses signal from the radio it would kill it, i was hoping it would work just being hooked in with a servo. But oh well, that radio is better anyways.

Is there any other good radios that wont break the bank?

Any sorry for doubting you flint

Thats the problem, and correct me if im wrong here guys. If its plugged into the bind port and not into an auxillary channel it technically wont be recieving any signal from your TX. And wont allow the engine to run at all.

Well ya thats why i could use a y harness and it would get a signal, till i turned off the radio. But its not a big deal i can just grab a 3 channel radio.

Im thinking either this one http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/148962/n/Airtronics-MX-Sport-FHSS-2-24-GHz-Radio-w-3-Channel-Receiver?utm_source=Google-Base&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Product-Feeds or this one http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/158025/n/Spektrum-DX3E-DSM-3Ch-Surface-Radio

Do those have epa? The airtronics one says steering dual rate, and steering and throttle dual rate. Is that a typo? And the spektrum has an independent travel adjustment, is that epa?

Which one of those radios is better? Im thinking the airtronics because it has 10 model memory, in case i got another 1/5 i could just get another reciever.

Futaba 3PK with the Killer B using the 3rd ch. Worth every penny.
That's what I'm running and it's the best TX I've owned. I've had the MX-3 also and it's a great radio too. I would defintely recommend the MX-3.
