strip all the electrics off the engine & fire it up & rev it manually. if it works ok then it eliminates a fault with the engine itself. As far as 2.4's go, Brad is prob right that Futaba are the best in the game but I have had no pobs with my £80 Code Core RC 3ch & it seems like a decent set even after 18mths. Also as he says, dodgy batteries can be the cause of many problems but would be the last place to look so if you have another or maybe borrow a mates to try again eliminating another problem.......

debates over differing manufacturers will go on forever... HPI and clones???
Futaba and Spectrum ...its all down to your wallet and your preference..

the best system is the one that works for you and your happy with...
I wont slate any of them but I cant drive with pistol grip style ones so I use sticks...all down to preference..My car came with a 2.4ghz hitec aggressor(pistol grip) and as I don't get on with them it is sat in workshop doing nowt ....lol

I run an FG Baja and an old KO propo on 40meg it does me fine so its the best system out there.......:lol::lol::lol:

Then you can also say that you have been fooled, lied to, and wasted your money.
;)

no kent that is what happens when you buy a genuine hpi baja and get a lemon like i did :lol::lol:. i'll stick with my speky since it is flawless as have all of my spekys since day one, futaba had their shot and they failed so often that i wont touch another one but that is just me. people like to state that the spektrums have issues with the ignition systems on large scale vehicles well this is a LIE if this was the case then those flying gasoline planes and helis and running gasoline boats would have similar issues as using spektrum which does not happen.

the last straw for me with futaba was my gasoline plane that suffered a destructive crash at teh hands of the futaba fassst system which was eliminated with the dx-7 i use now (to bad i didnt use teh dx-7 in the first place :( ).

not knocking anyone for their preference i just have mine which is spektrum because i have never been let down by them ;)

Ok I checked the battery and connections and all seem to be fine giving a constant supply.

I swapped over the coil from my old engine, and fired it up. Started just as easily, and revving it up it sounds fine with no misfires. Ran it around the garden a little and the failsafe didnt kick in either.

Soooo going to take it out tonight, fingers crossed it was just the coil being either faulty or too powerful for KM radio gear

It lives :)

The coil was the problem ( even though its brand new ) , so it runs fine with the old KM coil for some reason.

Only problem tonight was rain stopped play lol

Cool mate, I would of never thought of that....

Brad.

I came to that conclusion as the problems only started when Id swapped engines, so I figured the only electrical part of the engine is the coil and plug...

Ran quite well tonight, needs tuned but Im really happy with the engine. Starts so easily and revs well
