Well Scott at Vancouver Hobbies talked me into getting a Rally car. I will have it Sunday night. I had to trade off one of my project cars just to make room. 4 5th scales is all my garage can hold... sold a heli yesterday too so buying a motorcycle too, nitro 1/5. I can only replace and not buy more now hehe

cant wait to see the pics pipe, oh by the way congrats on the new buy :cool2::cool2:

comes with a clear subaru. something else to paint.... I am going to have fun painting this winter... well one deal backed out so looks like I will have 5 5th scales... time to build another shelf somewhere LOL

I had to have a couple hours sleep. just so burned out from that reno job this week then working a graveyard last night. time to sit down at the table and pull the rc's apart. I'll just keep the solo for the semi for now and someday I will do that brushless, but it'll have to wait until next big contract job

I have wanted a 4wd on road for a while. Scott has 2 sitting there, one with no motor. I was going to take both so I had a parts car but have to email now and say just the one. can't afford both.

Well because of the timing, I had to get it shipped. Scott was going to get a customer of his to bring it out Sunday and I'd have to meet up with him, problem is I work graveyards on the weekends, so might be in sleep time, and driving over the bridge to meet someone... he shipped it today and tracking says Monday latest, but it might be here tomorrow... and with stuff to do tomorrow, work tomorrow night, running rc's on saturday finally again, I won't get much rest....

I should have paid other stuff first I know, but you know how it goes when a deal comes your way.... priorities change with this addiction... he also sent me a kill switch and I have servos to change the pos stock ones out right away. I'll take some pics, then strip it down and rebuild it properly..

I scored today. we had a get together and one of the guys used to distribute large scale way back. He had a few bodies so I said to bring them along. I got this gem brand new and it's perfect wheelbase for my rally. I am friggin giddy man. Mercedes rules.

I was looking at pics all night. can't find this body anywhere, long ago discontinued. my buds think I should make a show car but I don't do shelf queens

nope, not gonna happen. I run everything I own.

I tell ya this weather is driving me nuts. I am trying to paint a bunch of townhouses. I am about to invoice for my first block. I just have to finish the trim. dam rain... this is my rally engine fund too grrr... I can do a little of the lower trim tomorrow, just have 3 units on front left to do... going back to work at the dealership wed to fri... so I subcontracted all the trim out just now... I have to pressure wash the next building this weekend. at least I can do that in the rain

took a full time permanent position at the dealership today. weekends off... man I haven't had weekends off in a long time...

so now I just need a motor, kill switch and to exchange the servos. (pfft, I still owe Scott for the Rally haha...)this week I will place the order for everything... I even ordered stuff from High Performance Hobbies in Calgary today. I got a Honda Accord body formy GT5R as well that was missing the front clip... and ordered the missing brake parts for my rear disc brakes for the semi. they had to place an order with fg so decided to get that stuff tossed in. I have lots of time. still have the mustang even if it's all cracked now

2 more weeks of this intense working them am good to play. 7 days a week for 2 more weeks and some days 2 jobs... put in 13 hrs today and up again in 6...

truth is, my detailing gear is better than what they use. at first I was taking stuff with me... well their air compressor is better hehe. but the manager has agreed to order in my brand of supplies. I use Automagic stuff. can't get any better in my mind

I do get all car parts at cost plus 10% and can buy cars for 100-200 over cost (used-new)

I made decent money with my own business, but I have to make my money in summer as I am a mobile detailer. then survive on what I banked in winter or take a security job. so I missed out on a lot of rc fun in summer. I also do house painting and nearly fell off a roof 3 days ago and made me think more about it... those benefits sounded better all the time; health, life dental etc. I am getting older now and can't do these marathon hours. really tired this morning as I painted last night after work trying to finish this contract off

anyway. I am considering making a mold out of this body so I can vac form more later. I still want to build a vac former

Dave bought my other car I had for sale and wanted to run a bit. I wanted to burn some fuel in the semi to check the new gearing and get some fuel through the new rally. There's more explanation on the vid link...

I've since the video, pulled the center dif on the rally and removed the 2 factory shims and the drivetrain is smooth... it was brutal, then I found those 2 shims inside the center dif (it's actually a spool). my glitching was the 9.4v radio

We after this took the offroads down to run but got no video. the place had overgrown with grass and weeds so bad we were getting stuck in areas... I actually drove into an area and all you could see was exhaust smoke... prickles, thissles, grass... what a mess.

and back on my own detailing/painting. didn't take me 3 weeks to remember why I hate detailing in dealerships. I have lots of work and just prefer retail work. Customers appreciate more when you go the extra mile. My ego is much too big to have a boss

I fixed the gear whine. had to remove the 2 factory installed shims in the center spool. now it's totally smooth... got a bad battery in my radio to as I just charged the 8 aa's and only 10.9 volts... just checked again. allready dropped to 10.8. have to check each cel with the multi meter today and replace the bad one(s)... some day I will have lipo

and the mustang is running a cy26 with the stock nutech gt5r tuned pipe. it actually is not bad and sounds decent.

oh ya, it runs good. I am getting a glitch though where it's cutting out temp now and then. we run a track. I took stock gearing and swapped to 31/29 and it still tops out too fast. tons and tons of torque. I could probably use mt gears flipped and still be able to break loose at will.

hthe beginning of the video is the rally

Sam and I just got some bling from Himoto for our cars. pic is a little off. these are really red annodizing. this should solve the stripping knuckle problem. mine are all crazy glued in lol
