the stock clutch spring shouldnt perform like you described it could be failing or faulty you should start with the motor check it over good! see if you can see anything out of the ordinary! check for loose bolts, gaskets, any metal shavings or gunk buildup?? then you can go thru the drivetrain and driveline check your dogbones make sure theirs no pins missing, turn the wheels and see if theirs any binding turn one back wheels and see if the other turns the opposite way, bearing can be binding, then you can look at the gearplate and gears, again make sure no binding, check if the layshaft is straight also check your tooth count like racetruck said the a and b gears should total 60 tooth, and the c and d gears should total 50 tooth count the gears should have the tooth count marked on thr gears??? check it out and let use know what you come up with??
