So just for shits and giggles I calculated the impact force of a 37 pound Rampage hitting something at 38 mph.


262 pounds! :eek:


That is allowing deceleration in .25 second which is probably generous.
 
Quite revealing!:eek:Lost a front dogbone and steering mount to that kind of impact. :( Now i make sure i don't see any stationary object bigger than an acorn on the landspace before i bash me truck.
 
thats funny. i was thinking bout that today at work but don't have the slightest idea on how to calculate it.. i completly understand why parts would break when hitting stationary objects. all those bad things i said about the tree? i take back. sorry tree.. :D
 
I didn't know how to finger it out either so I googled it.


It increases to well over 400 pounds when the deceleration time is decreased to .15 seconds.
