Love the truck but i ran only 1 tank of gas through and one of the front diff cups broke just running on road and grass not rough at all and two screws and spacers holding motor on fell out redcat replaced the diff cup but said i had to by screws i will never buy redcat again never had this problem with other companies

im gona take a guess and say u didnt go through the normal prerun procedures if u had screws fall out.....the diff cup coulda just been a manufacturing defect.....ive had my mt v3 for over a year and have only broke one diff cup with a 6hp motor off a jump in 20 degree weather, which is more than i can say for my hpi which has spent more time on the work bench than outside

If you have owned any other 5th scales you have had problems out of the box and thats a fact. They are bigger and heavier and lets face it stuff breaks. All of them need upgrades and have a checklist you need to do out of the box. But to condemn after one tank is silly. The problems you are having are very common. And preventable .

And you are in the right place with the right people to steer you in the right direction. Give the beast a chance.

Diffidently didn't do the pre checklist especially on the engine screws he didn't even locktite All rc have there issues I don't care who it is and I have many of them all different companies I love my CATS!!!!!!!!!!

Understandably frustrating when you have a brand new toy and it breaks. There is PM to do even if it is new. I have never owned any RC that didn't break one way or the other. You have a very easy platform to work on with the MT. Since it is now down for repairs, it's a good time to look the whole truck over. Have the locktite ready you'll need it. :)

I wouldn't have been mad but I did go through everything and lock tight that's why I was mad
If you went through everything with locktite, the screws wouldn't have come loose. Since you were the last one to tighten them, why would you blame Redcat for that? Sorry for your bad luck, but fix it and move on. If little things like this get you that upset, this hobby isn't for you. As said, it doesn't matter what name is on the truck, problems like this will come up with ALL of them. A lot of people love these trucks and have real good success with them. The used market is pretty strong for them as well, so probably fix it and move it, and good luck with whatever you move on to.

Well said if that little bit got you mad its time to try needle point or something else and you locktite the screws but you are mad at redcat? That does not make any sense I have never heard of a loctite engine screw falling out heck I have to darn near wrestle hard with them when I want to take them out.

I Love my RedCats too! YES they need a lil love outta the box, but hey what doesn't... Well worth it IMO...

I hope you end up liking the truck more, they are great bang for the buck trucks!

In a perfect world nothing breaks, let me know when you find that world.it sux my mt broke 2 diff cups right after i broke it in.any body that knows me would think i flip the f**k out.but it happens.got New diff cups ,tempered them and all is good.remember it always could be worse.and this is coming from someone who lives in highest stress state there is New jersey..lol....good luck.

Your upstate thats apple picking and sight seeing.the only sights i see in northern nj is brake lights and road construction.lol..heck what you gonna do its the north east.how far from nj border are you?we should get a ny/nj bash going in spring...the more the merryier.

What did you expect for a $700 1/5 scale. It isn't going to be perfect. There is the old saying "you get what you pay for". It sucks when something breaks regardless of what it is but it's still going to happen. Atleast the parts aren't ungodly expensive.

Really......

I had a brand new savage X out of the box it was a dud, and the losi was not far behind..... HPI spent more time broke then running.... they all vibrate and loosen fasteners. buy stock in loctite red with the spray activator, it will save you many headaches.

i would not base your decision of your truck on a first run mishap, or for better words lack of attention.. just my 2cents.

I just bought an Savage XS and with in 2 minutes I had problems, My 1st 3 runs with my Savage XS where 15 minutes max total. My point, there is no such thing as RTR. Every RC I owned from Traxxas to HPI to Red Cat to Align and so on all required some care out of the box.

Redcat has their problems just as like any other manfuacture does. For what a 1/5th Ramp costs you cant go wrong. Look at the new Losi 1/5th that bad boy runs $1600 and from what I read so far guys are still dumping money into them out of the box IE Servos pipes and so on.

You should have used green loctite, then when its time to take it apart you can round out your allen head screws and allen wrenches, then you will have something to female dog about.
