Must be winter again so new project. I decided to give the XB a fresh new design and look.

What it looked like (thread)

- G320 stock or Full mod OBR G340 Reed
- Jetpro side pipe
- all metal drivetrain
- 7075rc diff cases
- Dual Hitec HS-5805MG steering servos
- new servo brackets
- Custom shock towers
- Redcat/Baja 5B hybrid shocks
- new chassis
- new top plate

Using T6 6061 Aluminum 5 and 6mm thick, I'm making a whole new set of parts leaving the old design parts untouched so I can go back to it anytime I want.

With the potential engine (Stock G320rc). Haven’t decided if I want to use my Full mod OBR G340 reed or not.

Some frustration!

The redcat aluminum pull start engine cover does not work as designed using the stock pull start cover internal parts.

It's puzzling why Redcat designed it the way they did instead of making a straight forward bolt on copy of the stock one.

Although I have no clue how they could have possibly done it, I'm still wondering how they did it. I have hard time believing that they would design, mass produce a part and sell it when it simply doesn't work. If any one can shine in that would be great.

I manage to make it work, but it took buying and mixing up some foreign parts. Now only time will tell if it actually works reliably.

I bought the redcat XB aluminum roll cage but it doesn't work with my pipe (MCD V4 Jetpro pipe). So next on the list is to create my own roll cage.

Lot of effort there.
Chassis plate may be quite thick, but without rolled edges it's bound to flex quite a bit from time to time.
Have you considered bracing the chassis - bolting square rod either side could help?

True. Front to engine flex should be solved with the top plate and servo mount acting as braces. For the rear plans are to make a roll cage that will tie the rear shock tower to the front top plate.

I like the idea of the lateral square rod bracing, I think I'll do that too! Thanks!
