First of all i would install a killer bee kill switch to prevent a runnerway
check the receiver arial is'nt obstructed also check receiver battery is fully charged, replace radio with good quality batteries if you still have a problem i recommend upgrading to a quality radio set because the stock hpi radio and receiver ain't very good hope this helps

Get a remote kill switch - check out the Killer B website for information and videos, or simply via Dave's.
Ensure your batteries are fully charged, and get your failsafe set properly - most set the failsafe to 2/3 to full brakes - only works if the Rx battery has charge but will stop the vehicle if the brakes work and there's enough space should you lose control.
(Kill switch cuts the ignition/engine if there's a loss of radio signal, power or both.)
Read other posts on radio gear.

Most end up with Futaba or Spektrum radios - RC Pitstop in Holland have some offers on at the moment.
