sorry this isnt redcat related but i own a castle creations 4600 kv sv2 combo and it will drive fine for a little while then all of a sudden it wont respond, then when i try to steer the car it will give it throttle without even touching the trigger, i am wonderiong if it would be the esc or the reciever thats malfunctioning,
 
If I were you I'd make sure your connections are tight. My sidewinder 4600 was sporadically responding, it turned out that it wasn't plugged in all the way to the reciever. I agree with Deluge something is up with your reciever. Is your antenna wire still good ? It sounds like there is a lag in it somewhere.
 
REVO, part of my antenna wire did rip off, but only about inch off it though, is that enough to casue it, also i noticed it happens when my 2s and 3s lipos have about 4.0 volts left in each cell, that when it will start to go crazy
