I've had my eye on that one also. It's new so long term reliability is to be determined. I have not read any negative opinions yet.

The price is right.

Actually the boat guys have been using RCMK's for a while now and I haven't heard a negative review, yet. I'd be concerned about the 4 bearings in an off road setting. They're just rubber sealed bearings. Some of the Zen's use a third rubber sealed bearing on the clutch side of the engine. This is usually replaced because of the potential for air leaks. Once the bearing seals go, they'll leak and dirt WILL get in.

Doesn't matter what it is, dude. Someone will ALWAYS complain it.
That's the truth. Some will complain that is is too good if they got the chance. LOL

Rcmk Pro mod 30.5 long block ordered!

(well ordered it 2 days ago, i couldnt hold my breath any longer)

WHooP WHoop!!

the onlything tht concerns me is i think its only a 2bolt head, but then saying that ive never had any problems with 2bolt engines, i only ever read about the problems.

i hope i made the right choice over the OBR reed

I'm surprised that you didn't go with the 4 bolt 29.5 for 60 bux less? that's the one I have my eye on.

Did you guys read the OBR dyno sheet? The power peaks and then falls like a blind roofer.250 rpm past peak and it drops by 1.5hp!
Yeah, but when your are dropping down to about 7hp that's still pretty damn good!

Perhaps, but when all you have is a 2k-3k powerband, that really limits your gearing. I bet it would be killer in a 5b with a 3 speed, but in a 40 pound Rampage M/T, not so great.

Cool engine and I'm sure it screams in the right application, but for the price and peaky powerband, I think I would have to pass even if I could afford it. 8Hp sounds awesome, but for only 300rpm, yuck. Typical reed motor, with typical reed powerband, that's why snowmobiles use a CVT style clutch to keep that motor at the peak power rpm.

That Gizmo motor looks like the hot ticket and being a piston port it's gonna rock through most of the rpm.

DAM YOU! I wanted one! Let me know how it goes... I know 2 bolts are ok but I do prefer 4 bolt if all possible :D

Sorry I'm noob so what are you thoughts comparing the Gizmo Motor to the OBR Reed on my XB? Is it worth it? Will my pulley kit and tranny handle it? Which one is best for my application?
