I am having a problem that the 4no bolts which the metal rose joints pivot on which are bolted through the chasis keep loosening with use. Is this normal. I have tried using 5mm nyloks but no help. Am i just not tightening them enough, or do they stretch and become loose with use?????

I have full alloy rear end and metal rose joints

try putting some threadlock on their. Plenty of vibrations on these beasts.

If they are the proper size the NYLOCs will not come loose! They are vibration resistant. As BTB said ,make sure they are all the way through.

Right, try two M4 nuts locked together(turn them against each other till tight) with red threadlok.
If they are still comming loose then theres a greater problem.
Do you have pictures?

or just get some new nuts. nyloc wears out after being put on and taken off a few times. same with wheel nuts. buy a bulk bag of each for the pit box

My nuts back out all the time if they have been off and on a few times.
Seriously, if they have been removed more then once they will back off. Buy a sealer like ZAPII and seal them in place. The ZAPII can be used for virtually everything in our 1/5 scale world...

All of the advice is spot on.
Are the bolts long enough for the nylon to take properly?
Is the nylon worn out? Replace the nut.
Mine can loosen a little after a few hours - these things vibrate, again as has been stated.
Remember, the movement should be in the rose joint, the nut can be as tight as you want without problem. I insterted cones above and below, to ensure the movement is complete, despite tightening as hard as I can - which is HARD !!
Good luck. You should sort this out without problem.

I heard some problems with the dominater exhausts.
They have a resonation thats makes every bolt on the rear off the car loose.

It is also possible that the bottom plate is heated by the engine.
This ensures that the plastic (nylon) ring in the nut is soft and can not hold the resonation.
Make the bolt clean and use a new nut and loctite.

i did well over 30 tanks with a dom on my FG MT and never had a nut come loose, anything that isnt held in place by a lock nut needs loc tite on it.

exhaust header bolts come loose if not super tight, thats about it.
