I bought a brand new rampage XB after a good run in the next day basically all my metal gears were smoked within 15 mins of my run.

Is this a common problem please advise. I got the upgraded alloy part with bigger bearings in it. Will this going to to solve the problem

Do you mean the gear plate and gears? Or the actual rear differential.

If you are talking about the gear plate gears:

The metal gears normally last a really long time. Pretty much forever. They normally only break from other circumstances, like a rock or debris getting caught in them. They can also break if you loose a bearing or break the gear plate.

It us the diff gears. I was shock when I saw it actually.

I bought the alloy diff gear housing which has larger bearings in it. So far no problem. Cost my $120 bucks. If it happens again I don't know what to do.

If you crack the diff case or loose a bearing the gears won't mesh correctly and will be short lived.
