rear lower control arms??

I have my "X" tore down for cleaning, polishing and paint and i noticed one of my rear control arms has a thin brace like piece of plastic running across the arm by the hub mount that is broke. Is this piece even needed or can it be cut out? If its needed i can always put a aluminum strap there instead of thin plastic but why add weight if its pointless right..

I would think that yes it wil be needed because without it you will have too much space in there and have too much flex and the arms would bend and break because some kind of flex or hit caused it to break in the first place.

Thats what i figured. It just seems to thin to actually do anything. I guess ill make it right like it should of came..

The arms are fairly inexpensive. Just to be safe I'd replace it.
