If any one would like more information on the Peace bowl dirt oval track PM me. Come race with us on the only track in Georgia that runs large scale.
Never been big on oval racing but being there is not a off road track any more with in 300 to 400 miles of me and in my situation cannot travel much any more. I was considering selling my 5b as bashing to me gets boring quickly and I really missed racing!!!!!! Even considered going back to nitro 1/8 scale just so I could race again.
Found out there is a dirt oval track 60 miles from me in Brooks, Georgia that ran all scales including large scale. So I decided to give it a try and if I did not like dirt oval could still sell the 5b. Well I must say I had a blast and never thought I would like dirt oval racing but my mind has changed. If you ever have a chance give it a try if you have never done it! Do to the smaller scale guys fussing about how the large scale digs up the track we have to run street tires and let me tell you it sure makes for interesting driving! LOL
Have much work to do to get it where I want it. The motor I built with an OBR race ported 30.5 kit just has way too much torque the way it is set up now and street tires do not help. Need to gear it higher as right now I am running stock gearing; decrease the stall rate of the clutch and make more set up changes. Might even take the CPI big bore off and put the standard CPI on. I did get a few replies to my post about setups for dirt oval but not many so I did the best I could with what little I find about setups. But for my first dirt oval race I did fairly well.
