Basically my FG Leopard has a Multiplex 707 RC set, but the receiver is busted and multiplex don't sell it any more and I can't get one ANYWHERE.

Has anyone got any suggestions for some good, but not too expensive RC sets. (transmitter and receiver)

Looking for some cheaper ones, but not too cheap. So basically good ones that simply do the job of being a remote.

ok. I have generally heard good things about ansman all over the board and well it looks good, it has abs (which i don't really know if it useful of not, becasue I haven't really had much time to play with the FG) but it's also the cheapest on wheelspinmodels. :p

The Ansmann W3 2.4 GHz Radio System - 3 Channel is a superb system ask jacko.
j.

I'll second that. They are only about £60 and do EVERYTHING you could want, with a built in failsafe, 10 model memory, ABS, EPA etc etc. And feel nice in the hand too. Plus 2.4ghz is just GREAT !!!!:clown:

Yeah. Now I need to convince my dad to get that instead of hunting round for a second had radio set.

Don't care about it being second hand, i am just TOO eager :p

This 1 has ABS too! Its got all the settings of more expensive sets & its made by Schumacher so a reputable name in RC behind it. It also survives smoke & heat from exploding battery cells if ever you get unlucky like me :( Its good if you are old school & prefer the sticks.

:lol::lol: We saw your "Heated battery battery cover":lol: It's amazing it didn't smoke the controller too!

Can't you just buy a new receiver? It doesn't necessarily have to be a Multiplex/hitec you can use any receiver that is the same band. 27,75, fm,am,2.4...

I have an Airtronics 3pm (from the 90's) and I use a Futaba receiver from 2009.

I could for MOST rc sets, but Multiplex are really weird like that.

I phoned them and phone around but only multiplex recievers work with their remotes.

its rather annoying to be honest but, Im trying to search around for a reciever becasue its a VERY good radio, just old and I don't wanna get rid of it unless i need to. It has abs, traction control and soo much stuff.

What frequency is it? I am asking because Airtronics told me the same thing. As long as it has a crystal, you can use a receiver, regardless if it's Multiplex or someone else. Do you have a buddy that would let you use his rec? That way you could try it w/o having to cough up any cash!

the only reall difference in fm radio stuff is the crystals, for the most part. negative or positive shift. jr and airtronics go together, futaba and hitec.... a multiplex is a hitec so any hitec or futaba crystal will work.... unless it is like a hitec dual conversion which is very proprietory.

I know I have used many different brands of rx's with different radios, as long as the crystals match up

Yes I took it down to rossmods & they plugged a new battery set into it & it all checked out ok :cool2: They are ordering a new back cover (the heat distorted it where the battery pack sits in) battery holder & battery cover then it will be like a new 1 again :) They were as amazed as I was :clown: Quality product :clown:
