I just got my Baja from Dan, and its super, uber sweet. I'm gonna hold off on starting it or anything though, i want to get my mods in first before I take this baby for a spin (Yes, i can be VERY patient.. Lol).

One question about the remote that came with the thing; does anyone have an instruction PDF for it? I know its comparable (*copy cough cough clone*:D) to another remote, just can't find what at the moment. Plus, I know its a 2.4ghz, but why does the receiver for it have an antenna? Kinda reminds me of TX...

Pics when I've done some meaningful mods :w00t:

Congrats and it is a clone of a flysky GT3b, I wasn't able to find a manual for mine but was able to figure it out before changing to a Futaba. As far as the antennae on the RX that is common on all 2.4 setups and is necessary. Remember to get a Kill switch too before you start it up so you don't end up with a runaway:) btw I ran the Killer B v2 with that radio but you can now run the new Super B.

We have a saying in Brunei to express thanks, roughly transliterated:

'May Heaven's tears bring you prosperity.'

Heaven's tears = rain = good crops = prosperity.

Kudos to the both of ya :D

Why do you want to WAIT and modify it first?
Most people fire up immediately - or as soon as (once the remote kill switch is installed) - and modify as they break parts.

It's more fun that way I reckon.
Just my thoughts anyway.

The proverbial nail on the head. I'm waiting for funds to get the kill switch, have too many bad memories of runaways (i bent the driveshaft on my old DBX THRICE thanks to a random glitch) to not run with one.

Plus, it costs a pretty penny for me to ship stuff, so I'm intending to save up and then go amuk (a word from my mother tongue, Malay :D) with spares and mods. Doing my research now so to speak, trying to get as much stuff into as few shipments as I can.

Trust me, seeing the Baja just lying there grates on my self control. :w00t:

Shopping update...

So, I've just been from DDM's site, and here's what I've just ordered...

Turtle Racing Quick Diff Transmission
Team Fast Eddy Pro Series Shim Kit
Voltwatch2 4.8v/6v Rx Battery Monitor
Outerwears for the pullstart & shocks
Full Force shock boots
Killer RC 'Super Bee' failsafe/soldered killswitch combo

With express shipping, it came up to USD$290, which is not bad considering the amount of stuff I got. The Express Shipping was $28, which is a bargain in my situation, trust me.

Planning on getting quite a bit more aftermarket parts, thought about listing 'em out here, but after the list ran to about 30+ parts... Well, didn't want to bore you guys

Anyways... Any other vital upgrades that I should be aware of? (got the RPM stuff, planning on going full RPM ) planning on the Savox stuff (difference between the 235 and 236 servos, please?) and other things that have been oft-mentioned in the forum.

Cheeeeeers

*head slap* you know what, I have a pair of Futaba BLS servos in my Kyosho 777, I remember the steering servo being torqueier (sp?) than the throttle servo...

I blame nitro fumes.

Bad... Lol.

Anyway, that's what I've got too. Kinda reminds me of one of those KO-Propo ones, huge dumbell of a remote.

mine come with the flysky gt-3 clone but i upgraded to the 4pks, pricey lil radio but i love the thing, you can do so much with it.

I got the 3PK, lovely piece of equipment.

On a side note Lan, how do you take off the air filter? Was gonna check it for air filter oil, cause it felt kinda dry to the touch, but for the life of me I couldn't get the damned thing off. I got up as far as getting the plastic ring off, but I didn't see any obvious answers...

Still nervous about taking things apart, I just got it a few days ago...

do you have the manual? if not, you should be able to get the pdf of it easy nuff, by doing a google on it. but it is a pain to pop the clip open.

one side of clamp ring, at the base of filter/carb, has a square looking loop, and the other end of clamp ring has a plug like looking thing on it, the plug like looking end pops into the square looking loop. you have to use a small flat blade screw driver to push in, the plug like end low nuff to slip out of the square loop end. the clamp ring is hinged on the opposite side, and has a pin in hole slip in connection, once you get the plug part pushed in and slipped out of the loop, you can lift one side of clamp up and slip it out of the pin slip connection opposite side, and work the other half of clamp off. then the filter is removed.

one thing i found to make it a lil easier to remove the filter in the future was to get the angled shredstack from phatdad, it angles the filter upwards to give a lil better access to getting the filter off. i think DDM has the angled shredstack.

im not sure if you can follow what i just said, but if you can see the manual pic of it, i think it will become a lil more clear .
