ok. Took the reciever box out and cleaned it. Was gonna seal it up so the water stays out. Plugged it all back in the correct spots I think!!! Turned the radio on And my wires started to fry on the lead coming off the switch that runs to the batt slot. So. Wondering what the heck I did wrong. Any ideas??

hi mate mine did that so i disconnected everything and checked it all but couldn't find and brakes in the wiring so i stripped the switch and found due to the water that had already got in it had corroded the switch and shorted it out :2guns::2guns: so i just cut the switch out and put a male and female terminals on the end of each wire so i could unplug them so the battery isn't permanatly connected :cool2:

Charlie,
you did right by making the battery disconnect. I almost discharged a li-po one time because i forgot to disconnect it for a while and it drained to almost dangerous level.

My wife said i could have burned down the house. I said nevermind the house what about my car..LOL

As for me I do not use switch's .....I have not for years...I just unplug the battery
always safe that way.....on/off switch's cause to many problems........
Just my thoughts here guys...Slawhammer

So, just run it direct instead of the swith huh.. Maybe thats what happened to mine switch shorted.. It was crazy.. kinda only one way to plug it in.. Thought I was retarted for a min.. I still like the idea of a switch, but maybe I can come up with something a little better.

if you still want to run a switch see if you can get hold of a water proof toggle switch that way no water can get in :cool2: but i've had mine without for over a year now without any probs :)

I run with and without. On the Fg its without. I bought a 6" extension and just plug the battery into it when I use it. Only issues with running without would be the ends getting sloppy after a few years. The other side, well, you know that one.
