Man im so frustrated at the moment. :helpsmilie:

I have the same problem with my new FG MB as I did with my XRC. I took it to a track for the first time to see how it handles the jumps and increase my driving skill (hopefullY) and my radio is not talking to the receiver at all, no throttle or steering. It works fine for the first 15 mins and then nothing.

Originally I thought it was the battery so I removed all the shrink wrap and checked everything looks 100%. Used some multimeters and the battery is putting out over 9 volts everywhere I checked (using a 6 volt 5 cell sanyo). Not sure if this could be causing a problem.

Im using the spektrum telemetry receivr I used to use in my nitro which worked fine. I also have a sports receiver which didnt seem to want to bind in the FG for some reason. I got no idea what could be causing this problem.

Is there anyone out there using a DX3S in their gasser that has come accross this kind of problem before?

Any ideas?
 
there should be no way a 5 cell pack can have 9 volts. are you using a digital volt meter??? if so, change the battery in it, i had issues with mine reading high when the battery got low.

also you might have an old version of 3s (funny for a new radio) but the upgrade now can handle other rx's

Hi pipeous.

Ive taken it back to my local hobby shop who wired up the 5 cell for me. Going to get them to go over it. Im not goot with wiring and batteries in general. More of a mechanical person. :)

Ill keep you all posted on this issue, hopefully it may save someone else some time and hassle in the future.

+1 on what Pipeous said,i've had a duff cell before and it drains the rest of the batteries pretty quick.
Or if your local model shop has made the pack up they probably have not soldered it well enough to give good connections.

Thanks for the info guys. I have a suspicion myself its the battery but I should know in the next couple of days.

I want it back ASAP. Going camping this weekend and would love it, pefect spot for some bashing.

Well its either the battery or the receiver so it shouldnt be that hard to figure out sureley.

I know the last time this happened with my XRC it was the battery, once of the connectors snapped some how. Then I bought a new 6 volt and it seemed ok for a while.
 
well i think my hobby shop found the problem. removed the wrapping on the battery and found the plates that connect the cells together are all broken, all of them!

so changed the plates over to 14 guage wire which should handle the vibration better. if I get time I will give it a test tonight.

will let you know how I go.
