Nope. You don't need the crank. The stock engine has a +2mm crank in it.

I don't like them and wouldn't run one again. They seem to starve the crank bearings of lube. As far as performance goes, I can't say... anybody?

Agreed. They do starve the bearings, and there is a mod for this but it requires drilling through the crank case. Not for the inexperienced.

Stuffed cranks are supposed to give you a bit more bottom end.
