Recommended hydraulic brakes?

That's all part of the hobby - 'customising' I suppose - making it fit.

I am like Al in that I don't have that much time with working away so just want to get out with no hassle. I tried FG tuning cables & found them a pain in the arse (even after persevering for 12mths with different settings) so bought the tuning layshaft brake and that does the job for me (£30 Rossmod). It locks the back wheels on any surface and suits me just fine. I enjoy it as a limited time hobby and am not serious about it in any way so don't need a super tuned stop on a sixpence buggy.

If you want to spend on hydro's, Mike is 1 of the most experienced on here to advise which are best.

I know he said alloy radio plate but I added an extra post to mine in front of the throttle / brake servo which stiffened it up no end so could be an option for you.....

I hadn't a clue what they were either when I bought them and I also bought a set of mecatech ones like you have done and they are fitted on my hormann. I don't really like the mecatech ones very much tbh and it is only the fact that they are the most common type fitted to hormanns therefore the master cylinder bracket is readily available that is stopping me from removing the mecatechs and trying my contrast ones, I just can't be bothered to try and get a bracket made up.

Just a thought Keith, but how are you going to actuate the throttle? !!! :D:D
It seems to me with the set-up you indicate, the outer arm is to PUSH IN the hydro pump, leaving the INNER arm to ..... mmmmhhhh
Maybe it's me.

Mike's a tad harsh there, just because the hydros aren't connected .... !!!

As we all know, Keith is an engineering genius and has developed his own unique 'dry' system. His brakes have been known to stop his cars rolling 5mm out of position on the shelf :w00t::w00t::lol::lol::lol::lol::badair:
 
Keith, please don't take this the wrong way but do you have those steel cages "because you can" or for protection (while you're bashing or while it's on the shelf lol :lol:)

Mike i have them because i could make them 10mm solid bar tig welded polished then nickle plated, because i don't like ''shiney bits''

Keith, MY aPOLOGIES, I realised on the aircraft how I had got things wrong - no worries with your servos.
Can't be braking when you're accelerating!!

Harsh?? Maybe you could point out where?
 
Other than routing the pipes slightly differently and using a couple of different fittings it all looks fine to me.

One thing to remember, as you've got the bleed screw at the bottom, you'll have to take the calipers off and turn them the other way up to bleed them to full effect.

Good job dude, have you tried them yet? you might have to yet them bed in first before they'll stop on a button.
 
Yes i agree, the pipe rout is like that as its little short.. I might haf2 change the pipe from the master to the T as rapid racing don't do them so i haf2 wait after xmas to order them from germany..

I have tried them once but they didnt stop as i still need to change the servo as i have the stock on there...

But i pulled the master with my fingers, it did stop the wheels from moving but i just felt that this is not enough power to stop the car(considring that the car was hanging and there was no weight on the wheels).. Could it just be the pads or i might haf2 re-bleeed them as i did notice couple of micro bubles inside near the T junction ( i did bleed them twice but still bubbles)
 
as mike says they need bedding in to work there best,my hydro rear took a few runs to get the best feel,but i would recommend trying your hardest to remove as many of those little bubbles as you can,they end becoming one big bubble that dosent compress when you brake.
it is a knightmare bleeding them and getting no bubbles i still sometimes end up with the odd bubble,as for the servo get a savox if you can it will stop as good as its ever going to then
 
Which servos do you think is hustle free? There are couple of futaba, savox and many other makes and how many kg in pulling power is recommended?
