I think you would be pretty ticked buying one just to destroy it in the 1st crash and then to think you could of bought a body for 2 times the price that would last way longer.

Those shells come from MMR. You could call them and see what they would do for a price on a body. 125US isn't horrible for a 1/5 scale body but, I think I will be getting a fiberglass body for my next body. Did I just say 125 isnt bad for a piece of plastic?
There is also the MCD body. http://innovativehobby.com/mcdfordf150monstertruckbodyshell.aspx which I think is like the FG but the front end is all one piece.
Not sure how this MCD body would look? http://innovativehobby.com/mcd2009monstertruckbodyshell.aspx

That was my orginal plan. A fiberglass body but I was just concerned with durabilty. But I was told they are bash proven. So I just don't know. Right now I have no body. The hummer new bright body my MT came with is dead so I need one. I was thinkin on gettin one FG body custom painted but I want another body also.

the redcat body isn't that thin and it takes a dam good beatin. my buddy has a bl redcat mt and its taken a few flips and never damaged it. he even had his nephew (that weighs about 50lbs) lay on it and gave him a ride.

interesting.... On the redcat forums they are all saying that the bodies are to brittle so ill steer clear from it.

the material the redcat body is made from is brittle and cracks easy. I had buggy and mt bodies. I glued shop rags to the inside front to hold it together. I cracked my rally body picking it up by front bumper area.

I have never had an fg off road, other than the white marder, but the on road bodies are tough. I have skid marks on the roof of my truck, been hit and t boned, split a 10th scale truck in half in a head on collision (a pic of the aftermath)

So how tough is that one?

I've heard the MCD bodies are tough too.

Stay away from the Redcat bodies, I used shoegoo and the drywall tape all over the inside and it's still cracked pretty bad and I don't drive it that rough. I have an FG Truck body I'll be mounting on mine this spring.
