I see redcat has responded to the call for a better air filter . My last shipment (MTs and DRs)arrived with baja style air cleaners , not the best foam I have ever seen but a workable 2 stage filter system with a neatly done body clip holding the end cap on the baja style fliter system.looks like you could use baja foam on the housing.Anyway good on you redcat for once again responding to your customers needs. now if they could add some cv boots and a tank vent LOL .I know one step at a time .big thumbs to Redcat . Roger

now how did one of my cars get in there LOL,just came back from the car show and figured since I was taking pictures why not ,it's not a redcat but what the heck.

I did notice it was not oiled ,most of us would oil it anyway but for you new guys OIL THE FILTER or you will fry the motor, it fits the cage on the MT with the cross bar in place, the filter could be serviced with little trouble. it is offset slightly to one side to clear the throttle brake servo.

RC DAD ,yep had her since 1979 ,traded her for a ford pinto and the guy threw in $400 bucks to make the deal happen LOL,who's the looser now LMAO.I must admit it looked like crap when I got it and it took me 1/2 my life to find the pieces to fix her up but she is sweet now.has a stroked out full roller fuel injected 409 small block pushing 524HP through a tremic OD 5 speed into a 12 bolt posi 3.73:1 / SSBC brakes .she does 11.70 in the quarter with her street slicks but I don't run her like that anymore.

Nice. It's already selling somewhere?
I guess so it's on all my cars on my last shipment ,I am sure all shipments will now come with this feature .one less thing to upgrade is fine with me.

I'd still upgrade. I don't like how the inner filter doesn't completely cover the cone. There are better filters on the market, including the HPI filter.

Ya I would upgrade also . The outer filter doesn't look as good as hpi . Kewl redcat updated a little tho.

True but I think the HPI foams might work on that setup. The reason I say this is because the filter is offset away from the linkage. No more crossing the linkages to run the Baja filters.

Crossing the linkages isn't really a big deal. At least to me, it isn't. The cap on this setup mounts to the cone itself. So, you'll have to cut out the end of the HPI inner filter. Which would still leave the end of the cone vulnerable. So, yeah you could improve the foam, but in the end you're still left with the same design flaw.

A $30 filter is cheap insurance for a $300+ engine. At least that's how I see it.
