Redcow Racing?

I was searching the internet and stumbled across this. I am curious if anyone knows anything about it. Was this actually a serious issue that happened? If so why where they able to keep the Redcat name and not change to the ridiculous Redcow name and logo?

I was thinking when I got to the part that said it was changing to redcow that at the end it would end up saying it was a joke. I bet that one got quite a few people.
