Reed kit on stock engine

I was just wondering what peoples thoughts or experiences were with fitting reeds to stock standard g260 (25cc) zenoah engines WITHOUT any porting.

Would you see a gain in power? low end or top end? how would this affect the tuning?

Only reason I ask is that I fitted one up in my racerunner with an 813 carb and was a bit disapppointed, I reckon it ran better without the reed kit, was it just me?

I don't have any first hand experience fitting a reed to a stock engine but I have heard that they don't anything or very little to stockers.

you will see some gains with just droping the reed cage on.
but you wont see anything like you would see if the cylinder and piston had the proper port work and modifications on them.
