Can anyone recommend a Reed kit from experience? I have heard good things about them and remember seeing one for around $110. Is it worth it and would it work with my setup of 813/Zrc carb plate/shreadstack/27.2 ESP?

Great kit, I have one, in fact a reed cage assembly are not a complicated part, you will have no problem with the part itself, It's very reliable.
However if you want to get all the benefit from a reed engine, you must modify the piston and intake port to allow the maximum duration to suck the fresh mixture.
If you have some good tooling, skill and steady hand, you can add 2 boost port in the cylinder.
I installed this kit on a CY27 and did all the modif. For a first test I keep the stock intake/exhaust timing, I can tell you the engine are become completely different, much more power, much more quick in response, even when you pull the cord to start the engine, it fire up much more quick.
Now if you play with port timing, you make a real beast of your engine.

Thanks for the advice. Fastlane turned me on to the ONB ported 27.2 so Im thinking about when I order the 27.2 kit telling them what you told me and having them do their port match too. Then maybe some nice crankcase bearings. I want to make a high HP high RPM 27.2.

hell yeah I want to see a video asap! That b!tch is gunna run. I just couldn't afford it when I bought mine. I think I'll swing it when my next rebuild is needed.

Thats a little over my budget Moo at $599+100 for a reed
. Heres what Im looking at (so far):
ONB Reed ported and head ported 27.2 kit $249
Lightend piston (haven't heard back from ONB yet)
Bearings $ don't know what to get yet
Donor Zen complete New w/813 and clutch $230

ONB also has the 27.2 race ported for 379 w/clutch+813 so I could save some time of building and ask if he can put on the ported reed for 100 which would make it $479 but then Im not sure about the lightened piston or bearings.
