reed valves good mod or not??????????

been onto the o'neill brothers website to check out there motors and seen that they do a bolt on reed valve kit for $99, was just wondering has anyone fitted one and are they as good as they say? :cool2:
 
I never used one. A guy i race with has one, I believe it's even the O'neil one.. He swears by it. I notice it does give him an extra edge.

Well the $99 dollar reed valve bolt on is only half the job....you really need the head
ported correctly for it to get the full effect with the bolt on reed valve.......other wise a waste of $99 dollars.......Just my thoughts here.....Slawhammer

hi slaw i run a ported 29cc so would it run ok or do i need to have it ported to fit the reed?
 
bolt on reed adds X amount of performance gain, while porting for a particular reed increases it that much more... I have not used a reed but I know guys race pocket bikes and they say a reed makes a big difference.. mind you they port their own heads so...

i can get the full ported kit with the head and valve matched from them and thats $199 :cool2: which isn't too bad:cool2:
 
Charlieboy...If you do any thing got with a match set ..say O'Neil Brothers
sean there is good fellow..he has helped a lot of people including my self......
Might as well get a great tune pipe as well ...go with a Victory....
Do not just buy the bolt on reed valve......Slawhammer
 
the t/s reed case is awesome great power thru the range..the bolt on reed case with window porting goes good to and if you can take it to a cart shop to put the extra transfer ports even better.....they let out a awesome sound to them...
