Refueling Tips??

Is is safe refueling the mt WHILE THE ENGINE IS STILL RUNNING? I guess it would safe me the stress of restarting the engine every time i kill the engine to refuel...what u guys think?
 
I use a jetpro pipe and me fingers keep getting burnt by the pipe anytime i want to start the truck so i figured the less time i start the truck, the better. I use a fuel bottle which would minimise spilling so i don't see why i cannot refuel with the engine still running?Talk to me guys...
 
doesn't spark ignite fumes not heat soo it doesn't matter if its hot now if he was refueling it next to the plug thats different just throwing that out there
 
use common sense. Never fill it with the engine running. Technically you should wait for the engine to completely cool down before refueling.
 
im sure you can refill it lol just don't spill it all over the place... the spark is within the engine anyways its not exactly open flame or spark hitting you on fingers when close etc.... i done it many times with bajas etc.. not to mention my nitro stuff i usually refill them when still running hence they are pain in the bottocks sometime to restart... asking a question like this will give you no help really haha.. others say no way others say go ahead... i done it and did not harm anything atleast so far....
 
You are refilling your tank, which happens to be right next to a hot exhaust... Do the math. Slightest bit of overflow on hot exhaust or engine, can ignite. Have you ever seen unspent fuel burn out of an exhaust pipe before?
 
just saying i done it never a issue SO FAR lol not saying nothing wont happen just saying i done it several times and no problems.... not saying im smart actually yea its always a risk but some of us like the little danger involved :) or some will say BIG danger.. it can be done but with risks... but anyways im not going to say nother thing about this hence it will lead to nothing haha.. have a good one boys...
 
just fill it while its still running. your not going to explode:D.. the heat from the ehoust wil not ignite the gas. just don't be a "jason" about it and spill it all over the place.. and if it does catch on fire at least get a pic/vid for us. could use a good lough

Gasoline percolates at 97*F, is your pipe that hot????? You speak of refueling with an engine running and as if getting burned is fun. Take a match, light it and stick it in your eye....sound stupid?....so is refueling near a heat source. Ever hear of a gasoline stove? Oh and with premix, have fun putting out that fire!

If you take 100 Rampage owners and all of them fill their tanks 100 times with the engine running, 99 of them are gonna tell you they never had a problem but there's gonna be that 1 guy with no eyebrows that owns a melted hunk of plastic and metal that will tell ya otherwise. Do you really wanna be that guy?

Interesting comments...Guess i gotta pack a compact fire estinquisher in my tool box eh? It may just come in handy in future!

I promise to take my camera along. Better still, a camcorder will be in my pit box so that if poop happens....at least i'll be able to get it on tape! :D
