Hey guys I have painted the body of my shell using FasKolor. Nw it has gotten beaten up a bit so I want to bring it back to clear and start again. Any suggestions on how?

I thought I saw someone using brake fluid

ive heared that to, they say its the best to use coz others out there can ruin your shell
but i belive its takes alot of man hours to strip the paint.

good luck on that

DOT 4 brake fluid is what you use to strip a body. personally my body is trashed long before the paint goes but then again i don't use crappy waterbased paints either and stick with pactra plycarbonate and automotive paint(from the local auto paint house ;) )

faskolor

Actually Faskolor is easy to remove. Faskolor DOESNOT have a chemical reaction to the plastic like other paints. Fill the body with boiling hot water and let it sit for an hour and the paint should come right off. Any remaining residue can be removed with rubbing alcohol.

Brake fluid did not work for me. I used some interesting stuff but it was not the greatest. I'm still using the body as its black now instead of stock HPI orange. Up to you if you want to try. More of a try it at your own risk.

did you use dot 3 or dot 4 brake fluid? dot 3 is useless for the task. used dot 4 (dot four) brake fluid adn it takes a lot of time and effort to do so my actual advice is to sa f it and replace the body with a new clear one and paint it :D

i always thought taking paint off a Lexan body would alot off hard work wouldn't it be easier and less time consuming just to get a new body but then again it does save alot off money

Ya, I used DOT 4. I'm not the most patient. OK, I have a dot of patience and it was not working. I put some on my MT top and let it sit and hours later I gave up. The bug spray didn't work either. I will just buy a new one or paint the outside for a basher top. :D

i don't bother because teh only way to strip teh paint i use off of a body is to melt the body in laquer thinner :D. replacing the body is much easier and less time consuming and i can try out paint schees using photoshop before ever actually painting ;)

Sir you are the winner, Faskolor is very easy to remove it turns out with boiling water. Plus I airbrush my bodies so it isnt a huge amount of paint layers. So half stripped already!
