DBXL 2.0 removing small gear inside diff

hi guys im in process of changing diff oil so i want to remove all the stock diff oil & give it a good clean ready for the new diff oil i have, ive removed the 4 small gears inside the diff, but theres another gear that sits on the cup shaft right next to the casing, how th f*&k do we remove this!? i cant get anything under it as its pretty much flush to the case, ive tried using tooth pick plastic tools i got but no joy, is there a trick to this!?

well bugger me, as i was typing this and searching, i placed the diff in a plastic container upside down & gravity did its thing, when i lifted the diff up the gear was flat down bottom of plastic container! :D
