Replacement black chassis??

I’m going black when I rebuild the 5b, hpi chassis are clearly expensive, so a few thoughts

1. Get the original one stripped and anodised black

2. Buy a black Rovan one but....


Are the Rovan ones ok, strength wise and fitting ( does everything line up ok)

Also I’ve seen some longer chassis that are extended by 4 inches, are these common, from what I can gather the benefit would be it’s more stable when longer like a real car would be with a longer wheelbase, but getting a body to fit the same would be different, I guess with extenders and a longer chassis it’s going to be one huge baja

Personally I'd get your stock one anodized or get a better aftermarket one. @1Coopgt has had some fitment issues with his rovan chassis may be he can chime un here

If you can stretch your budget the your best bet would be IRC chassis and kick plate strengthener, both come in black and have the added bonus of lifetime warranty.
I have claimed 2 chassis upto now?

I say if ur going for a new chassis, IRC or Scorpion unlimited. Also I'd get a front stiffener like the others have said.

Ya bastards yous guys . That was my Rovan chassis . I went with Scorpion enclosed chassis and a Scorpion front under brace after that insident .
