Is there a replacement chassis for the 5SC that is stronger then the original chassis? I under stand that they can tolerate some abuse, but not a curb. I don't plan on driving into curbs, but accidents happen as this on did. I cracked the chassis straight across where the narrow section meets the wide section. I also broke the elbow on the caliper where the brake line connects to the wheel.

What a day, I just fixed the brakes. Everything was working great until the accident.

Since I plan on racing next season, I was wondering if I should replace the chassis with a stronger one if there is one.

Thanks

sorry to hear...

man, sorry to hear that... you are having some great luck huh??? ive read a couple post from you tear your rig up... quesion, do you have the stock rear brakes or did you add the aftermarket brakes??

Been running the TR front upper brace and the Scorpion lower brace for 3 years. I have law darted it many times coming off a jump and so far never messed up my chassis. I did this up grades on my 5b SS before I ever ran it.

From what I have read I think the Scorpion is stronger made of steel only problem is it is heaver but is all so cheaper.

I have been going through a lot with this truck. I think most have gone through what I have. First it was the servo's, the brakes and now the chassis.
I did upgrade the brakes. With the upgrade, I don't think I would need the front disc brakes. Stopping power has improved a lot.
I have not raced the truck yet, can't wait to see what happens when I hit the track. :D

I like this better then the aluminum. I don't care for the little extra weight, it is the knowing that I am protected better then what I was without one. This one looks like it can handle some hard jumps and impacts.
Thanks for the link. A huge help.

I just completed the order.

i have been pretty lucky i guess... my rovan's pull starter flopped on first pull and lost 2 drive shaft pins so far... stock electronics are still going strong... i mean, i know there are much MUCH better electronics. i keep the overall throw of my servos at 98%. so i am sure that helps.. but i will upgrade during the winter when i am bored... i am using the swimman throttle mod linkage and cant complain... my stock brakes lock up on grass wit the MX's on her... well, hopefully i will catch up to you soon and we can do some racing/running/bashing... i have off on wed and thursdays if you are around...

I have a new chassis, brake line elbow, lower chassis brace/support and upper support were ordered yesterday.

Boo Hoo that I have to take the truck apart to replace the chassis. I would rather spend my time playing. :D
