I'm not going to take my chance with stock servos. What do you folks reccomend as a budget friendly alternative to the stock servos?

Thanks!

hitec servos if your on a budget these will work 805bb or 805mg steering servos and the 625mg for throttle/brake,
all depends on how deep you want that budget to go,
i like the savox servos i'm using but i went hi-voltage.

So your still using the same battery style? What kind of battery?

About the battery if you use this battery https://www.redcatracingshop.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=1506 it will make your servos turn faster and react quicker. a 5000mah battery is just supposed to give you longer run times but I don't know what it is about venom batteries I think they discharge different in some kind of way I just know I have tried 3 different company's on the batteries and you will notice quite a good difference on this battery.

Very odd indeed.
As the description says : 6V 5000mAh NiMH Hump RX
But notice the fine print : Capacity: 4200mAh or Amp Rating: 4.2A

Again may refer to the way it outputs power similar to a LiPo which adds credibility to your statement. But back to the original question. Have you seen any issues with the stock servos? I actually took mine apart and from what I can tell they look solid. Not fluid in the movements, but they looked rugged none the less.

LOL I have no clue why or how it worked I seen it posted on another forum about the same thing so I bought one just to see for myself and boy it does make a big difference so I ended up buying 3 more.

i use the savox hi-voltage servos with a 2s lipo battery, that lipo powers everything from servos.reciever and lighting,
my steering servo is rated at 555oz at 7.4v and my throttle servos is at 362 at 7.4v.my lipo battery is a losi crawler battery 3300mah, last's forever,

The original throttle servo went out on my on my second tank the steering servo is still hanging in there and performing great I have done 8 tanks on it so far.

i run the 7955 and 5755 hitec servos on mine, my stockers were just fine but when i upgraded to the 4pks radio i decided to upgrade the servos as well. i also run the 4600mah pack Rx batt from DDM. so far never had issues with Rx runtimes. i did burnout a 7955 servo with new radio cause i forgot to set the end points of servo sweep first, hit one end locked and burned up. upon replacing it, thru hitechs replacement policy, no cost to me, then i adjusted that end point on sweep, and no issues since.

I am running the Hitec HS-5755MG on steering and the Hitec HS-5645MG on the throttle, HUGE improvement. It goes where I tell it to and it will lock the rear tires almost instantly if I want it to. Cost me around $120 USD shipped from EBay.

I'll have to check out that combo. $120 is a steal considerig the cheapest i've seen the 5755 for is about $80-90 alone.

+1 I went back and forth but landed on the 5755MG(Rhino) for steering as well and glad I did, huge improvement over stock. I am also using a Savox 1256TG that I had for throttle, the combo works great in high speed/quick reaction situations I have no complaints:)

Folks, i've decided to go with Hitec 5755 and 7955, along with a DDM 5000 mah battery. Thanks!
