looks the same to my with a diffrent body...

that would be because it is the same bar a few, as cheap as possible, "upgrades"...
hpi continue to flog the same old horse to death, in keeping with their business plan i guess, they've been doing the same with the savage since it's release and seem determined to drive themselves into extinction.

and now i know where all the crap british leyland managers must have ended up after they ran the uk car industry into the dust..they now work for hpi.. they were masters of badge engineering and were the world leaders at putting lipstick on pigs:laugh:

Hpi should look into 4wd!

im not sure how they would do that, they would pretty much have to redesign the whole truck, i don't really like what the clone companys are doing with the belts, so like a driveline from a center diff, like what losi did in there truck.

That's right......
You can dress up a 5b with other bodies and different stickers and call them all sorts of things but at the end of the day it's still a 5b.

They need a new platform that is 4wd if they want to remain in the game.

A Losi represents much better value in my opinion.

maybe the could keep it the same, run a drive line from the rear diff to a center diff into a front diff some how under the truck?

is that possible with the gearing?

love the four wheel drive idea,,, I have a redcat rampage xsc,,, quite a bit lighter than the bigger mt,, work in progress as always,, that's a 4x4,,.. and I just got a king motor roller,, so working on that too,,,Baja has way better support aftermarket wise ,, but redcats are catching up,, btw didn't they make a 4x4 Baja,,,, called a kalee that was sold by nutech usa,,,I know a lot of the parts were the same,,, used a belt drive system to the front,, vids online of it,,, just don't think it got popularity,,,

i don't like the idea of belts at all, ive seen the clone company's belt system and thought if i had money to throw away i would just give it to my gf.

The belts work just great no problems at all belts drives has been proven in 10th scale on road racing for many years and the belt drive in the 5th scales has been just as great.

No they do not slip at all they have deep strong teeth on the inside I have raned at least 3 gallons through mine with no belt slipping or belt problems at all

I have a belt drive in my FG Leopard 4.
No bearings to clean.
No dog bone pins to wear or grease.
No bent dog bones
No gears
No drive train slop
No torn rubber boots.
No maintenance

Yep they are a real pain.
Belts are cheap and have been used in RC cars since the late 80s - early 90.
They are also used in 1:1 scale engines for timing the cam shaft..... Good for 100,000 Kms or 60,000 miles.

i was looking at the king motors site doing some research and one belt was 26 bucks and the other was like 18 or so... so i hope you wouldnt break belts. i might have to contact him and see if he'll sell a 4wd set.
