The GTi cabriolet looks excellent mate - nice job.
The wheels ..... erm ..... that's something that would have to 'grow on me' ..

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing, but some things hit me 'WOW' and some ... 'erm, don't know'. ....
As a 'typical Northerner, spade is a bloody spade' this is closer to the latter to me ...

i was the same mate wasnt sure but the do look the bomb csr im planning on bombing the bonnet maybe its a funny old scene the dub one anythink goes you can make the with the euro look ratty look, now adays im all about low and slow i keep the fg's for speed

I'll admit they are 'growing on me'.
Agreed, the design I like.

If you keep them sparkling like that, and the tyres as black, then it's fine.

Another alternative that would suite I reckon is black spokes - also that way once the brake linings start collecting, you won't notice it as much .... !!

Very nice condition, but why have a 'woman's car' when you could have got the real thing ? ..... I'm on bad form today mate!!

womans car you tosser modern day classic going up in price every day cheap running costs and the best way to drive in the summer hood down tunes on and sunnys plus its the real deal baby the father of all hot hatches the original and still the best golf gti id love a tin top but there fetching silly money so the floppy top is the way to go

MK2 GTI is my all time fave DUBBER Ihad a rep years ago couldnt afford a real one so i made mine look like one it was in Mars red one of the best cars i ever owned that and my 1986 Audi 80 1.8 sport that had the golf MFI GTI engine! Oh and my MK2 Astra GTE that was an animal!

I love the GTI's great classic car's but i agree with Al red wheels are abit much they should be black or same color as the body, but if your happy with em thats all that matters

he lost you im well lost

red was the only colour that wheels were made in,,,the wheels i had on before were painted the same colour as car i never realy liked them,,,but love the design of these new ones the red goes with the grill trim thats red and the trade make of a propper gti

By toy car I mean its not a serious car, Its a convertible, made for and hopefully owned for fun, Its a Mk1 Golf flop top so its performamce is dulled so a car youd use for sunday outings and basically pissing about
As such its choice of wheels should reflect this.
My daily...also a toy car will be painted bright advertising blue as soon as I have finished the bodywork

these wheels will certainly stand out against body color. Just like our scale cars. And thats why I like the red ones on the golf, makes it a whole lot less serious and a lot more fun...Bit like a toy.

Floppy Top indeed!!
It'll be like my (remaining) hair in a couple of years.

Agreed it looks good, but in my current 'why be diplomatic when you can piss someone off mood' it brings back memories of that era, and it's, erm, Ford rival, the XR3i convertible - what a car ..... !!!!

Where I am, I'm busy avoiding the sunshine!
... and I read there's already a hosepipe ban on in UK - in the South East.
Wonderful.
