Well... I was floggin' my 5T through a field today for a while and it suddenly stopped moving. So I'm thinking... that's not good LOL. Obviously, I went out to it and noticed that it was trying to go in reverse when I gassed it. There were no gear grinding noises or anything like that but the clutch bell did have a slight "ping" to it every now and then. I'm guessing it might be blown, which gives me a good excuse to get something better, but I haven't had time to tear it down yet.

Anyways, I am fairly handy with repairing stuff. I've had the XXL tore all the way down a couple times. I was just wondering if there were any other folks out that that have experienced this issue before (clone or not), and if you have any suggestions at all?

If you spin both the rear wheels together by hand does the clutch bell turn ? if it does it sound like your drive system is ok and it only done a clutch!

Yes the clutch bell does turn! The drive system does feel okay, but since I am gonna remove the clutch I think I mine as well take the drive system apart too. Thanks for your help!

A little late here... but I wanted to let you know that I got the HPI high response clutch. Thanks for the recommendation. That thing rips! It shredded the Rovan stock spur gear within 10-15 minutes. I put an HPI spur gear on and it is holding up strong so far. Definitely better quality.

No offence but thats why i recommend people buy the real deal being a HPI baja and not a clone version

But a few part upgrades and you should be good

Im happy your Happy:)

No offense taken at all. I knew it was a risk going into it. Honestly, so far I am out $69 due to what I feel have been inferior parts. I am documenting it all for personal reasons and don't mind sharing it with everyone else. I will also note that I have already spent about $300 on modifications. I imagine the modifications will be considerably higher in the end. :D
