I would be worried about the cylinder plating (if any). But throw a Zen cylinder on there and you're good to go. I'd rather not be the guinea pig.

Just ordered one up, going to give it a try. My CY marine cylinder's plating is failing and I don't think it's going to get much more running out of it. I will report back once I get it lol.

Cheap why not give it a go can always experiment with it if it's a little slow. Lighten the flywheel and piston. Go crazy on porting the head and match the crank case and up the compression and let it self destruct. I've got a couple of Cy two bolts sitting around that I'm going to mod myself to see what I can get out of them.

Already running a DDM lightened flywheel, but am going to try my first porting job on this one... maybe lighten the piston, enlarge the exhaust and eyebrow the transfer ports. Maybe i'll try it first on my marine cylinder before I do it to this one.

Are their any performance advantages going to a 4-bolt from a 2-bolt? Or is it mainly just a stronger foundation?

don't see why u cant,,as long as the head was made for a 30.5,, if im correct,,,has to be machined for the extra stroke that is in a 30.5,, otherwise it would be a 29cc with a stock crank,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and putting a 29cc head on a engine with a stroker crank,,, i believe it would not be able to turn over, piston would top out on top of inside of head,,,,,,,,,and if it did,, u would rish blowing it up under power and revs,, but you could stack gaskets to make clearance, but that yet again is asking for problems,, easier blow out and engine failure
