Ok so Scott at large scale RC convinced me to try the New MCD rr v4. I must say, MCD did a damn good job in addressing some past complaints. I have about 4 or 5 tanks through it, several major cart wheels and the damn v4 is still running with all limbs in place. Bad news is yes i did bust the front and rear diffs while bashing yesterday.
I'm Running a Full mod 4 bolt OBR 27.2 with my fg VRC pro pipe on backwrds. Fits perfect though.:chinese: Hey those shocks reeeeeelly rock.
Dislikes: Radio and servo tray's tooooo soft. major flexing going on with both servos and It's causing really wide turns on the track. Don,t know what killed the diffs, but i Called Scott today about the diffs. MCD okayed free replacements. It'll be here 2moro.
So here's my question. How many of you guys out there are satisfied with your TS 30 top end speed vs your 27's. I have always run 27.2 and this'll be my 1st 30.2 motor, but i'm thinking i shoulda went with the TS 27.2 instead. No serious racing on my end, only bashings and lots of speed shoot outs at our houston playground.
i would like some pointers on gearing and other tips from TS motor owners. thnx guys.
will post pictres soon.

i'm in south west houston. There are a bunch of guys out here with large scale cars. We usually run now on wednesdays after work, saturdays and sundays from about 10 am to 3 or pm. we acrved out a really large oval down by Eldridge and HWy 90. Theres allways about 15 to 20 cars out there when we go out there. 5b's, fg's mcd's even cen's new large scale. Pm me and i will give you directions.

You can't go wrong with the OBR 4bolt 27.2. I run them in all my cars, fg baja, mcd v4, and my 5b's. mcd v4 stock gears with pro pipe. i do donuts and drift in a 4wd as heavy as the mcd. i run a vrc pipe witht the fg baja. pro pipe with the v4 and side mount vrc on my 5b's with 19 55's gears and have no bog at all on the low end. they're good engines dude.

thats what i run in my 4wd fg baja. had to gear down to a 44 spur from a 46, and it still tosses the buggy around.

I have decided on a TS 30.5 fourbolt/ONB head kit with
a new custom pipe from TurboGlenn. That should be awesome
in my MCD. Since my 27.2 TS/ONB is handful enough for the
Baja 1000.

He only does one off, custom work. He has done a
couple and they are amazing to say it nicely....
second to none in my opininon. Cost wise they are
not to expensive....

Hopefully it responds like a 27.2 with the Pro pipe...
a few different guy's helped on the pipe. Lending their
insight. Glenn is a knowledgable guy also. It will fit just
like a the Samba pipe does. To fit under the body, but
utilize the space to fit a larger pipe. Tuned for 30.5
HP motor's. Not the best for run time's but bag's of power!

I will be posting some pics soon of all the NEW product's
on this build. Glenn is not the only one. It takes time and
patient.
