Is the standard fg Baja Futaba steering servo known to be rubbish?
I have changed the internal gears twice now and only seem to last for half a tank worth of racing before all the teeth break! can anyone reccommend a good replacement?:mad:

I don't have a Baja, but I haven't read of people having problems with the HPI servo - clones YES, definitely.
There are plenty of choices on the market.
Favourites are the Multiplex Rhino, and the Hitec 'whatever'.
Just surf a few of the older threads, I'm sure you'll find something.
Take a look at Dave's Discount Motors and Hobbythek for servos - they'll at least give you some ideas.

i went through a stage of breaking servos on my fg steering now ive changed it for a hitec 5755 and its sorted the problem plus its exactly the same servo as multiplex rino in a black case well worth the money

how long ago did you buy the FG?

I bought a FG Baja 4WD about 3 months ago, they used to come with the Hitec 805 which was crap but mine came with a towerpro 9805MG which was awesome!

Super quick and could easily turn the wheel while sitting still, if you can get an alloy horn it would be even better.

I did about 10 tanks in the stock servo before it died which isnt bad for a RTR servo.

5755 is the go though, you will need to mod the radio tray a bit (check out my FG Baja thread its got pics of a modded radio tray). the 5755 in my beetle has been going for over 30 tanks and never faulted, still going strong.

PSR are selling them for a very good price ATM.

are they plastic gears :w00t:...is your radio set up right ...end point travel ...you need a good

metal geared servo

you cant go wrong with the multiplex rhino:D
