Rust on a ddm side pipe/needs cleaning

It seems like i have either rust or just burnt on oil. What can i do to clean it off? I like the pipe to be clean and shinning in the sun.
 
an acid if it is rust. a wheel cleaner won't hurt the chrome but will remove the rust. the stuff is designed to clean the metallic brake pad dust of chrome spoked wheels (I use it on almost every type of wheel myself). as the metallic brke pad dust turns to rust on the rims.
 
Oven cleaner works great. If you think about it, it's made to take burnt crap off of metal. If your using any abrasive pad try it in an area you can't see. I scratched a $2000 set of chrome rims on my Stang from a certain steel pad from Home Depot.

heli guys have been cooking their nitro engines and pipes in a crock pot with auto antifreeze for years to clean the gunk off but that has to be done outside as the fumes are toxic
