Samba or Jetpro?

I will try to make this as unbiased as I can......

Samba....... great pipes making very good all over power, much quieter than most other pipes. My gripe with them is that they are way over priced for the quality you get, construction looks cheap and the metal used is very thin but they are designed more as a race pipe so lightness is key. The finish on mine lasted about 30 seconds and actually comes off in your hand. Samba's are not really bashing pipes.

Jetpro........ Usually high end pipes but my own experience with the Jetpro V2 on my Baja SS was great, yes it made the engine scream but it was not left wanting low down and more than held it's own against the staple Dom pipe. Better made than the Samba, cheaper and is better suited to bashing.

CPI........ New kid on the block but the owner Mike has been making performance pipes for Scidoo's and two stroke bikes for 15+ years so he should know what he's doing. I have both a Samba 4 power and the CPI side pipe for my MCD V4, the Samba does make slightly better power but it peaks whereas the CPI makes almost all it's power from approx. 10000 rpm to way beyond 17000 rpm. I have the dyno prints for runs on a stock Zen 26 4 bolt and a race ported 29.4. Construction wise...they are very well made using a heavier gauge steel than even Jetpro so bashing wise I am sure they will take the punishment, the finish is either matt black powder coating or chrome, not seen the chrome in the flesh but the powder coating is substantial.

Thats how I view the two pipes you mention plus one other that has been mentioned above that I have experience with. Keep us posted on what you go for......PS, I don't like Doms, nothing wrong with the quality, they just sound awful.

thanks for info guys :)

& ta jon nice comparison there, ive not heard of CPI before? but judging by what you have said seems the best option? i just googled it & seen a few pics, but only for the HPI Baja, is there one for the FG MT & whats the price like dude :) ?

Ta

stick with yea dom,

would love to as it does add sh!t loads of power, but i don't wanna risk ripping it from the head when it pulls wheelies (which it does alot & ive only used it once!)

The day i used it my engine stalled ..when i walked up to my MB to inspect why it stalled, it was cuz the exhaust got bunged up with mud cuz my MB pulled a wheelie & the end of the pipe dug right into the ground :o

don't wanna use wheelie bar... hate the look of em :(

just make a skid plate out the back. it'll look like a small bumper and should protect it when it wheelies.

been thinking of that, even bought a sheet of alluminium to do it, but its gunna end up sticking out alot cuz of how far the pipe comes out at the back :s

Price for mine shipped from the States (bought at Largescale rc) was approx. £150 inc. import tax.

Not sure on the FG pipe option but send an email to Large scale rc and they will answer your questions alternatively send mike an email via his site on the CPI website he also does get back to you, only his shipping costs were 3 times more expensive than large scale rc's.

ta dude, but decided gunna try make a skid plate to protect the rear end of pipe out of the ally i bought a while back & see how it goes, failing that then its plan B! :)

I have a jetpro silenced version 1 and I am not a big fan of it... It's always in the way and it is not easily removed. It ran pretty well with my stock Zen 26, but it hates this CY 28.5 that I have now. I have no low end torque or any top end...

As far as a skidplate or wheelie bar, you could try something like this. This is made from .250" (6.35mm) aluminum. I have landed on this wheelie bar from well over 10 feet and it hasn't bent yet, but it did blow the little wheels that used to be on it.
