i have a sanwa gemini 2 3channel handset 3rd channel i want for remote kill switch is there any way of changing the twist knob for a more simple on off switch the kill switch does work with the knob but not as good as a switch would as at the moment it only works when i turn the knob and not when i lose signal ect i sure if i used a switch it would work as it should ie loss off signal flat rx batt ect any help would be great:helpsmilie:
 
boy im not sure at all if you can. im totaly unfamiliar with that radio.

what kill switch are you using (link please).

not all of them will automatically kill the motor, some just do it when you command, while others account for low battery , loss of power, interferance ect.....
 
hi im using a moddified pico the one on ebay with the blue led it does work when i turn the knob round it stops the engine as its meant to but not when i turn handset off and lose signal its not realy a problem as i do have a normal failsafe what shoves the brakes on when it loses signal i just wondered if anyone had done this before as there some mega clever people on this site the only site for rc to be honest
 
my kill switch works in a similar way, based on the position of the 3rd channel. If your rx does not have a built in failsafe, get an additional failsae on the kill switch channel
 
ya if you have failsafe setting for the 3rd channel you should be able to work it out, but....... im only guessing
 
ive not tried any more just going to use it how it is for the time got failsafe plus 3rd ch kill switch just have to twist knob round and it kills engine so it does work but wanted to just turn handset off and do it that way its no big deal cheers for all your help guys

hi mate i run the same radio and kill switch, i've had the back off mine b4 for a different fault but the switch looks like just a rotary on off switch as there's only 2 wires goin to it, so i guess if you can get a small enough on off toggle switch it would work :cool2: just my opinion mate :cool2:
 
how do you stop yours just by turning the 3rd ch knob how does it work for you has it botherd you enough to do any thing about it or is it ok like that as ive not used set up yet waiting for it to dry up a bit every wheres swamped at the mo may take the back of handset of to look

as above matey but i've been thinkin of swapin the switch for a while now but like you not got round to strippin it yet :clown:

hi matey just took the back off on mine ive got 3 wires going to knob black red brown am i right in thinking that black=earth red=+ brown=signal
 
yeah mate i stand corrected it has 3 wires not 2 like i thought so don't think the option i said will work sorry........someplace like maplin electronics you could speak to them they may be able to find a switch???????????????
 
ive got a small toggle switch here will fit its a on/on but can be wired on/off if i joined red+brown or black+brown on one side then the other one on other side should turn it on and off if i get it wrong way round i should be able to reverse the channel in theroy

you could try it but i'm not sure if it will do any damage, i've just been onto the maplins site and asked a ? on a 3 terminal toggle switch that looks small enough so should get an anwser back tomora :cool2: if you want wait these switches are only £2 ?????????
 
done it mate on/off switch you need a small 3pole switch and brown wire goes on middle pole then black on one and red on the other works a treat flick it up goes on down it goes off much quicker than the knob sweet

top man will sort myself 1 out at the weekend :cool2::cool2:
 
its easy just pull the black plastic knob off (quite hard)then under that you will see a brass coloured nut undo that then you can remove the knob from the handset just cut the 3 wires resolder on to the switch one on each pole brown on the center pole mine still wont go off when handset switched off for some reson but i not a worried about that it was more twisting the knob was the problem also theres fair bit of room inside the handset for a small switch good luck let me know how it goes cheers for your help mate
