Hay what would you go with for a first timer like me in gas? Baja 5t or a FG truck, I found a FG on craigslist for 1,000 he is claiming somthing like 2,000 to 2,500 invested and around 4 to 6 gallons through it I think ?

The FG's will be alright here for parts. MMR is in MN and they are one of the two distributors. You can get parts through any hobby town. Or go direct to MMR.
The 5T is an awesome unit. The two models are totaly different types of R/C's/beasts.
2500 is not hard to invest. I would say It can be done with a few minor upgrades. Post up the link and we will look at his his photos.
Welcome to the forum, hope you get into the 1/5 scalers. More the merrier around here.:cool2:

Thanks for the ideas on buying a baja 5t. Not sure on how to post craigslist on here. Just look under craigslist mn and go under for sale all on the left side of page and punch in fg it should pop up i just did it yesterday and it was still for sale it was 2 gallons of gas he thinks two bodys tune pipe etc.thanks all erik

Sorry it was Search craigslist on the left side of page and his Ad starts out with (Price reduced FG MT5 Monster truck) etc. lives in blaine so if you see that on right side of his ad you under correct ad.Thanks Erik

Depending on what it looks like under the body thats not a bad deal.
It will also depend on what electronics and radio system it has.

I would say it will cost about 1300 to get a stock one set up with electronics.

How close is a hpi 5b to the chassis of the 5t? I know the engine is smaller but i found a 5b thats been taken care of well and has the after market pipe claiming 1.5 extra hp not mounted yet. he wants 600.00 then i could aford a new 30cc engine later for a power up grade. Thaught was if there is only mounts and skid plates to change it to put a truck body on why not for now.

The 5b and 5T are the same except for the body, wheels, tires ect. Its the buggy made into the truck.

The 5B is a good model. You will also like it. 600 is not bad depending on how much wear it has.

A new 5B 2.0 is $875.00 though.

Well i got the baja 5b its a awsome:cool2: unit runs great, lookes like new, The guy i bought it from lived in CA and moved to MN and says he could not find a buddy to run with out here. So it was only ran a few times 4 tanks is what he sayed. I was bumed that the steering servo was striped a bit because after three runs with me it was finshed off so no steering see they have a metal set that i am looking at on e-bay. Looking to do 5t body posts and body for now going to do bigger engine later its plenty of power for me know. If it was not so heavy i would do engine sooner but its hard to stop know so more power would be crazy till i get to know this dog first the way it is. Thanks guys for you support on this 1/5 beasts..
