Pull Start Screen Modification

I thought it a good idea to put a thread together for this basic modification.
The pull start vent holes allow a ton of crap to get sucked into the rotor area.
It is recommended everyone get a pull start outerwears.com but for those who cannot afford it right away here are a couple ideas of what to do.

You can remove your pull start and either install a screen modification on the outside or the inside. Here are a couple of photos of both.

Inside:

Outside:
Install the same type of window screen cut to fit over the vent holes. I used 3M self adhesive by spraying it on the screen and setting it in place. Other adhesives could also be used.

That's a good idea, I never thought of that. My pullstart started acting up about 6 tanks worth of fuel. So I bought an Outerwears cover for it, but this tip is cheaper!

Good Tip..

I've done a couple now, using something similar to slaw ...an aluminium mesh for reinforcing fibreglassing and used epoxy to stick it on...a good mod thanks BTB !:w00t:
