Secure Your Rings

Hello guys,


Today another head just passed away...


Basically piston is secured with two rings, those ones.


In my case one of those went off allowing piston pin to slip off and scratch engine head.


Just a warning to new guys out here, MAKE SURE THOSE RINGS ARE SECURED

I believe he is talking about the wrist pin retaining rings. 2 small snap rings that keep the wrist pin centered in the piston, not the piston ring

When you install those clips, the open end should be facing up or down. This keeps them from working loose and ruining your engine.

Good point. Also never install used clips. Not worth the risk of reusing them and they are very cheap to buy new ones.
