Servicing the Diff

Today I got bored and decided to take out my transmission. I watched a few vids on Youtube and the tranny came out with no problem. I was thinking that since I had it out it would be foolish to not check the diff. I need to know how to do a quick service on it. What type of grease do I use and what is involved. I only have about a tank and a half through the buggy.

You are suppose to use diff fluid what ever weight you want. My km came with a leaking diff, (discount!) I just use regular automotive grease. I don't race or anything, have not had no problems yet.

I run 10k in my diffs, I just did all 3 of mine, be sure to replace o-rings with new ones.

nyctankman how well do you like running 10k fluid?

I was running 7k but was wanting something thicker, made the move to 10k & have been running on & off road, may try a diff locker next.

I run 100k in mine. I spend 75% of the time in sand. You do loose turning radius a little or it fish tails(drifts) more on pavement.
