Hi guys this may sound daft but how much slower is a analog servo than a digi one? it will be used on my fg touring car as a steering servo bearing in mind i am only bashing not racing. I have a hitec 5755 in at the mo but it has as good as gone up in smoke :(

You would notice more if you were racing but for bashing get the best you can afford. For a touring car you don't need massive amounts of torque for steering as there is relatively little resistance compared to an off roader trying to turn the wheels when they are digging into a rough surface. Less torque usually means more speed. Maybe post in the touring car section and find out what everyone else is running. It will give you a starting point anyway.

was you happy with the 5755 until it went up in smoke if so get another one there a good priced servo ive got one in the bug and will be getting another for the on road when its ready for servos which wont be for ages

i was happy with it but they are the only servo i have used in the marder, the baja, and the touring car so wasnt sure how they would compare to a analog i suspect the analog is going to be a bit slower but seems to offer the same amount of torque

ive no idea on that mate is there much difference in price and will analog be ok with your handset as most things now are set up for digital use

There is no difference in an analog's speed verses a digital's speed as long as they are rated the same... What weighs more a pound of lead or a pound of feathers... Same, see what I mean?

So if you have a servo that's rated for 250oz of torque it should be just fine. Keep the speed in the .15-.19 range (or faster) and you'll be happy.

I love analog servos, because they are cheaper and they don't put as much of a drain on the receiver pack. I had a Hitec 805 (analog) that would crush the Hitec 5745 (digital) that I use for my steering, the 805 was 40 bucks (U.S.) verses the $105 for the 5745.

Whatever you pick, make sure you keep them dry. They don't like puddles. I have smoked 4 5745's.

just been looking on the link that dwarfy gave me and i have compared the analog 805bb and the 5755mg digi and the analog is 0.01 faster and gives the same torque and it is £26 cheaper, think i may try one cheers for the help guys

ive used the 805 both plastic and metal, really crap servo, very easy to fry the boards.

id recomend you to stick with the 5755, for the money nothing comes close. set the EPA correctly and should last you years!

I just saw yesterday Great Hobbies had 5745's on for $47 cdn. I just made some cash today so figured I would grab a couple... all sold out :(

the hitec 5745 is cheaper and very fast. you have to consider what radio you are using. and what your throttle servo is. if you run both digis you can run a faster frame rate in the radio (if equippped) which helps transmit what your hands are doing to the servos faster. also the 805 is a much bigger servo, which will mean cutting your servo tray open more, or using the stock one without insert. the 5745 is my servo of choice in the on roads. the 5755 for off road. 45 is cheaper too. that said it's not listed on hitec's site anymore, so maybe it's now discontinued?

Really? I have had great luck with mine, 2 years now. I have only gotten a season out of the 5745's
